Red fox in Hokkaido is called “Kita-Kitsune”.
Also, you can find many Japanese red-crowned cranes near here in winter.

Looks like that makes me the second person to sign the logbook... I think the difficulty should be one star only...

Unfortunately we didn't find the area around the cache to be special, but the pictures posted by old55jd are impressive. We did see a red headed crane later when visiting a nearby wetland park.

The cache was good condition. Near here, at Akan international crane center, many Japanese red-crowned cranes, Whooper swans, Steller's sea eagles,and Black kites are found easily. Also, often red fox are found in winter.
