This cache replaces my " Wainak View " which has been muggled, it was at the start of the track this one is at the bottom.
The cache is at the Waianakarua Scenic Reserve, turn up Mt Misery Rd off SH1, and it is about a 6km drive to the car park.
The road is narrow and gravel, watch out for other car's and logging trucks. about 2km in you will come to a sign saying no entry without a permit!! that's just for the pine forest, the road is public for about 8km.
Park at E45.15.731 E170.43.985, the entrance to the car park can be rough at time, but you can park on the road side
The cache is a 4L Bucket hidden about 10m off the track, when you get close to the river you have to step over a tree root, the cache is on your right and uphill.
GPS coverage is not the best at GZ. but there might be a marker close by.
The lower half of the track is steep and rough in places, it took me 30 mins down and 1 hour backup, but the fit will do it quicker
