kevnjenn: Well, thanks to all who made this a wonderful event. I had planned to archive this a week ago, but the Sage Foxx's picture on the geocaching.com homepage continued to draw visitors. Thanks to all of the folks back home who posted notes of support, we all appreciate it here and look forward to the day we get to return to our families. God Bless and keep SFC Paul R. Geocache Description:

We will meet at the bridge at the listed coordinates at 1700L and move to the nearest DFAC for dinner. We will depart the DFAC at 1800L (for any latecomers) and move to Hero's Cache. Transportation will be provided from the DFAC to the cache and back. Any Sather cachers who wish to attend and require transportation should meet at the Glass House NLT 1645L.

On April 4, 2003, SFC Paul R. Smith sacrificed his life to save the lives of his comrades, engaging over 100 enemy combatants with a .50 Cal machine gun and pure heroism, becoming the first Medal of Honor recipient in the Global War on Terror. Hero's Cache (GCRQGV) was established by GMS13 in memory of SFC Smith at the location of the battle where he lost his life.

Recently the site has been muggled and the cache is almost empty. Please bring an item or two, trackable or not, with you to refill the cache and renew the spirit the cache was placed for. This cache should never be empty. This will not be a formal ceremony; no grand speeches or anything. Just a time for us to get together and reflect on a fallen hero, and the others who have fallen in the name of freedom.
