Cache is placed along the historic Santa Fe, Oregon, and California Trails. There are a number of parallel wagon swales going up the hillside south of the cache.
Placed in cooperation with 3-Trails West Inc., Kansas City Missouri Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund, Santa Fe Trail Association, National Frontier Trails Center (across the street), and City of Independence Parks and Recreation.
Cache is a plastic tub containing historic brochures, fossil bison tooth, multi-use tool, Missouri state mineral (galena), kids trinkets, and a log book. Please visit the Trails museum north of the site (lots of Lewis and Clark and Pioneer stuff and a research library) and tell them you found the cache! The Estate house is a cool tour also.
