A "John Masser Memorial" Geocache . . .
North Katoomba's 'Minhehaha Falls' is a must-see location in this part of the Blue Mountains -- and it's the site of another classic geocache by the late Banksia777.
Banksia777 writes: "A place where there’s constant laughter of water! This cache is placed in an area which is not often visited."
From the very convenient car park at S33°41.207' E150°19.562' it’s a relatively easy 960 metre walk to get near the Falls area. There are a few lookouts from which to admire the falls and the gorges.
Take your camera, because there are some great pics worth snapping.
Please don’t go off bush-bashing to find this one! You really don’t need to leave the main track at all until you get within 65 metres of the hide.
Here's a warning note in capital letters from Banksia777: "PLEASE BE CAREFUL AROUND GZ AS THERE ARE CLIFFS AND BE CAREFUL WALKING ON THE ROCKS AS THE EDGES MAY BREAK OFF!"
This is good advice for all geocaching in the Blue Mountains area! However, you can access this geocache in its 'new' placement, away from the cliff edge, without any danger.
After your find you can follow the track down to the bottom of the Falls. There's a nice little pool there.

This 'spoiler photo' is taken about 65 metres from GZ, where the best approach to the geocache deviates from the main trail. rogerw3 has his hand on the rock shelf where you go right and upwards . . .
