Geocache Description:

100-year-old Glore Mill in Kiltimagh, county mayo, Ireland

this hydro powered corn mill stopped its operation in the 1930s when an electric mill opened in the town of Kiltimagh. For over 70 years the mill was abandoned and fell to ruin.

The mill building was recently restored with help from the Ird (integrated resource development) and a conservation grant. The building is now used as an arts center and conference space. Free tours are offered of the buildings and grounds.

the owners of the mill have given permission for the hide and are fascinated with geocaching! stop by and say hi if you have a chance.

the cache is to the right of the red door, behind the iron mill wheel

special congrats to Spy Caleb for the FTF on 21/03/07

Small note on cache maintenance: We're in frequent contact with the mill owner, who will maintain the cache on our behalf.
