Geocache Description:

ARE YOU VISITING THE COLUMBIA AREA ANYTIME SOON? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A REAL TREASURE HUNT? ARE YOU READY FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST ADVENTURES IN THE MOTHERLODE? THEN BE SURE NOT TO MISS THIS CRYPTIC ADVENTURE. I'D LOVE TO TELL YOU MORE, BUT THAT WOULD RUIN THE FUN.

Charles Earl Bolles, alias Black Bart, was an American Old West outlaw noted for his poetic messages left after each robbery. He was also known as Charles E. Boles and C.E. Bolton. A gentleman bandit, Black Bart was one of the more notorious stagecoach robbers to operate in and around Northern California and southern Oregon during the 1870s and 1880s. The fame he received for his numerous daring thefts is rivaled only by his reputation for style and sophistication.
Historical records show his last heist occurred November 3, 1883 in Calaveras county. He robbed the Wells Fargo stagecoach going from Sonora to Milton. It is rumored that the loot that was stolen was buried somewhere in the Mother Lode in hopes that once things had cooled off with the lawmen that he would return for it. Unfortunately for him, Black Bart was apprehended and sentenced to do time at San Quentin. When he was released in January 1888, his health had clearly deteriorated due to his time in prison. He had visibly aged, his eyesight was poor, and he had gone deaf in one ear. Due to this deterioration in health he was never able to retrieve the buried treasure, and it was assumed that it was lost forever.

Due to recent advancements in technology treasure hunters from all over have found the coordinates N 38° 02.144 W 120° 24.078 are the beginning of what appears to be a labyrinth of clues and code left by Black Bart himself leading to possibly the largest stash of gold to be found since the goldrush.

Congratulations sonorazark for FTF!!!
