WOOHOO!! Maintenance has been completed on this cache as of July 27/2015. Cache now consists of a reasonably waterproof clear plastic container with a bright red snap on lid imprinted with the words "BETTY CROCKER" and the original log is still in use.
NOTE: Subsequent finders will find this cache worth a look through.

THIS AREA IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS "THE GANNETS". DURING CERTAIN TIMES OF THE YEAR, GANNETS FREQUENT THE WATERS IN LARGE NUMBERS, CONSTANTLY DIVING FOR FOOD. THE PROCESS IS QUITE AMAZING TO WATCH. THESE BIRDS SPOT THEIR PREY FROM HIGH ABOVE, AND PROCEED TO FOLD THEIR WINGS AGAINST THEIR BODIES BEFORE PLUMMETING LIKE A ROCKET INTO THE WATER, LEAVING A PLUME BEHIND AS THEY ENTER THE WATER. IT IS AMAZING TO SEE THE SPEEDS GENERATED BY THE ACTION, AND THE WAY THEY MANEUVER INTO POSITION JUST BEFORE STRIKING IS INCREDIBLY SPEEDY.
WHEN THE WINDS AND TIDES ARE RIGHT, THE SHORELINE IS AN AREA NOTED FOR IT'S DISPLAY OF VERY LARGE CRASHING WAVES. IN THE SUMMER IT MAKES THE PERFECT PICNIC SPOT.

This cache has been rejuvenated!! WE have removed weathered "debris" from the cache, and wet, moldy log items have been removed for repair and re-installation.. Items of historical value will be reinstalled promptly for all to enjoy.
