We saw the roadsign for the Matthews Mission Walk but only found this place after several drive pasts, so overgrown was it.
The area is a picnic spot which has almost been reclaimed by the bush but still offers welcome shade for those seeking to retreat from the hot Kaitaia sun. Somewhere around here is the Matthews Mission Walk which we have not located as yet.
Whe hidden the cache contained a logbook, pen, a piece of kauri gum, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
