The Hardwald is a recreational area just outside the city of
Basel.
Many dog-lovers, cyclists and joggers use the Hardwald as a
recreational area. The city of Basel receives parts of its drinking
water from here.
Its only about 10 minutes walk from the parking lot ( SUI / CH –
1903 = 615790 / 265530 ) to the cache, passing a little lake and a
hut.
The cache is placed under an old stump, about 20 meters NNE of
the path. It’s a clear, round box about the size of a plate. The
box contains a log book, several pens and a bag of Gummibaerchen
(sweets).
Especially in the summer the GPS-signal is not always the best,
because of many tall trees surrounding the cache and covering the
view to the skies, but the signal should be sufficient.

Der Hardwald ist ein Naherholungsgebiet vor den Toren Basels
Viele Hundefreunde, Radfahrer und Jogger benutzen den Hardwald
als Erholungsgebiet. Das Trinkwasser für die Stadt Basel kommt zum
Teil aus diesem Wald.
Vom Parkplatz ( SUI / CH – 1903 = 615790 / 265530 ) sind es nur
etwa 10 Minuten bis zum Versteck, vorbei an einer Forsthütte und
einem kleinen Trinkwassersee.
Das Versteck ist unter einem Baumstrunk, etwa 20 Meter neben dem
Weg in NNE - Richtung. Es handelt sich um eine durchsichtige, runde
Box, etwa so gross wie ein Teller. In der Box hat es ein Loggbuch,
mehrer Kugelschreiber und eine Tüte Gummibärchen.
Besonders im Sommer ist der GPS-Empfang nicht immer optimal, da
viele hohe Bäume die Sicht zum Himmel verdecken – der Empfang
reicht jedoch aus.
