Cliplock container containing logbook, pencil and small items. Easy access, from either Wakeman Rd or Ewing Grove. Great views across the lake to Taupo township along the way. (Note:April 2021 - the bottom track from Acacia Bay has been blocked off)
Halfway down the stairs Is a stair where I sit: There isn't any other stair quite like it. I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top: So this is the stair where I always stop. Halfway up the stairs Isn't up, and isn't down. It isn't in the nursery, it isn't in the town: And all sorts of funny thoughts Run round my head: "It isn't really anywhere! It's a geocache instead!" Initial cache was muggled in Nov 2007 - replaced 7 Jan 08 in a slightly better position less than 1 metre away. Renewed container contains logbook, pencil, hacksack, windowlatch, shoelaces,keyring,happy face, USB cup warmer, 2 transistors, 2 NZ 1-cent coins. Container replaced again in 2021. GPS can be a bit unreliable down here but the poem should help. Don't worry about the barking dog near the top -it can't get you.
