Geocache Description:

I was impressed with how fast my last mystery cache was solved and found, so I thought I'd better challenge the danish geocachers once more. And this time it's really nasty. Don't say I didn't warn you. It's not a mathematical puzzle this time - it's something else...

The Russian Cosmonauts

It should be no surprise to you when I tell you that the russian people are proud about our results in space.

Gagarin

We were the first to send a human in space in April 12, 1961.  You may know that the first cosmonaut was Yuri Gagarin in the spaceship Vostok 1, which beat the americans and Alan Shepard with less than a month.

The first woman was also from Russia: Valentina Tereshkova in June 1963. But Russia had the records in many areas - here are a few:

  • August 1961: G. Thitov made a 25-hour flight - the longest at that time.
  • June 1963: V. Bykovsky completed a 119-hour, 81-orbit tour in Vostok 5.
  • March 1965: A. Leonov conducted the first spacewalk--it lasted 12 minutes.

Leonov

The history of humans exploring the space is fascinating, and the russians still play an important role in this area.

Hints:

29-4-2007: The name of the cache is the key to the solution.
5-5-2007: None of the numbers or digits in the description has anything to do with the final coordinates.
12-5-2007: "The russian cosmonaut" was never in space
24-5-2007: "The russian cosmonaut" does not speak russian!
18-6-2007: "The russian cosmonaut" is a fictitious character
23-6-2007: "The russian cosmonaut" and I share a common interest.
4-12-2007: Maybe "The russian cosmonaut" could be your friend?

Happy hunting!

12-5-2007: "The russian cosmonaut" har aldrig været i rummet.
4-12-2007: Måske kunne "The russian cosmonaut" blive din ven?

God jagt!
