McMinnville can always use another Cache... I've had my eye on this spot for a while, and finally figured out how to access the area. It is marked at the gate as a "Future Park Of McMinnville" ~ Not sure when they plan on starting the work. There are some great Giant Trees in here, and lots of Ivy - It will make a Great Park!
I put a pencil in this one, but I would bring your own just in case... This Cache is a small container with a Smiley Face theme, and is big enough to hold some small Trade Items, and Travel Bugs... There is a Small Ziplock bag inside with some goodies for the First To Find. There are also some Theme Based trade items in there, and a few Trackable items (Including a Digital Fish). The difficulty level is due to the fact that it is kind of hard to find a way into this park without violating some sort of "No Trespassing" sign. There is a newer neighborhood just off of SW Old Sheridan RD, and if you drive all the way to the back, you will find the gate where I parked and entered the park. I guess you could also just park off the side of the Highway, and come in that way. Depending on what kind of GPSr you're using, you may also have some real difficulty with reception inside these trees. I got the coords while tracking 9 Satellites, but it jumps from 9 all the way down to 5 and back again constantly. I took my time, so if you sit still and let everything settle, the coords really should be spot on. If you have problems use the clue. As with all Caches that are in the woods in these areas, there might be Poison Oak ~ Although there is no bushwhacking involved ~ It is right off the trail. You might want to wear gloves when searching, and making the grab.
