I found this spot when I was out for a walk near home and
decided to drive to end of Long Road. Which isn't as long as you
would at first suspect.
Its a bit of climb from the car park, but the views are well
worth it. The walk back to car is all downhill which is always
nice.
If you have a horse you can ride to the cache but you will need
a permit from the Arataki Visitor Centre on 09 817 0077.
The final location has stunning views of the Waitakeres and
Auckland. On a clear day you will even see Coromandel.
A quiet location to contemplate life and all its meanings, and
also to recover from the walk :)
