The cache is near the Hermit Lake Shelter. It is a fairly strenuous hike to get there but the path is well defined.
We placed this cache while hiking up to Tuckerman's Ravine to watch the skiers, it a great hike and really awesome to watch those crazy skiers (which included some friends of ours).
Take the Tuckerman's Ravine trail to the Hermit Lake Hut, this will put you in the general vicinity of the cache. It is a great hike, I recommend you go at least another .7 mi to the base of Tuckermans Ravine for a beautiful view.
The cache is in a matchstick container, it has a log and a pencil only.
Thanks to JASTA11 for new container and dry log placed on 10/8/12, it should e good for this winter now.
