Pocumtuck Ridge Cache
#5 - Old Nordic Ski Trails Cache
This is one of a
series of geocaches along the Pocumtuck Ridge. A portion of your
hike follows the blue blazed ridge trail. Unfortunately, every
trail on this part of the ridge is blazed blue. You will also find
yourself on the old cross-country ski trail used by Deerfield
Academy.
You can park at the
gate on Pine Nook Rd. Proceed up the service road and take the
trail to the left at
N 42° 32.325
W 72° 35.328
An alternate approach
is from the Pocumtuck Rock Treasure Cache. [Then stay on
the ridge trail and head east at the waypoint given
below.]
The cache is a regular
sized Lock-and-Lock container. As you approach the cache area you
will need to bushwhack a short distance.
