An easy walk in the Pepperell Springs conservation area... until the last 20' or so.
Pepperell Springs was originally owned by Belmont Springs, who bottled spring water there. If you're looking for a beautiful day hike, the Jeff Smith trail, which starts on Jewett St. in Pepperell, runs through here, and continues north. There is parking across from the Pepperell Water Department - the old Belmont Springs building, on Chestnut St. There is a dirt road that cuts between the 2 trails not far behind the building, if you want a shorter walk. This cache is child friendly until the last bit, which is rather steep. The cache is a waterproof lock box and is big enough for quite a bit of swag. PLEASE REHIDE IT WELL. My knees are not up for replacing it again. NOTES: 1. The hint is VERY specific. 2. Bring bug spray.
