The cache is based on a similar puzzle cache that I recently
came across that I enjoyed. The cache is not at the posted
coordinates (lucky for you!) but is within 2 miles of them.
"Rats," I thought to myself. It was nearly closing hour
as I raced about the library, circling about looking up references
on myths to complete this puzzle cache. I felt very much like a rat
in one of those circular cages. Round and round we go
...
At the closing bell, the librarians asked us to finish what we
were doing. I grabbed all of my things, bulled my way through the
dozen or so slow pokes exiting the library ahead of me (Hey, you
big Ox! Out of my way!) and I jumped through the exit doors
first, ahead of all the others.
In the light of the moon, I heard a splash and an odd series of
mournful cat meows. Apparently my abrupt exit had startled a
sleeping cat, which (having then lost its balance as if being
pushed) fell into some sort of pool of water. "I'll bet that wet
cat is thinking "Rats" too about now." I thought.
It was then that I discovered that my puzzle cache container was
missing!
"Good heavens!" I thought. I knew that I had gathered it
up before leaving the library so it must be nearby. I walked about
in circles looking for what seemed to be a year before I finally
gave up the search.
But maybe you can help me find it?
Stage One
I made these notes as I stood in the light of the moon where I
first noticed that I had misplaced this cache:
N Tiger Snake Dragon Sheep . Horse Rabbit Sheep
W Rat Ox Ox Cat Cat . Rabbit Tiger Rat
Stage Two
When you arrive at Stage One, look for a nearby weather-vane
with a singularly interesting animal on its top.
Using the research that got you to Stage One, take the value of
that animal and multiply the animal's value by 8 to get a
product of "X" feet.
Then multiply that same animal's value by 36 to get a product
of "Y" degrees (True North.).
Standing in the parking lot as near as you can to the
weathervane, proceed X feet at a heading of Y degrees (True
North) and seek about there.
Enjoy! And happy caching!
