Geocache Description:

This is one of the Elgar Enigma series of 14 caches leading to a final cache (GC11FZ5). Do not forget to take a copy of the numbers on the log sheet (and possibly a clue) to find the final cache. This cache is a small mystery cache hidden in Malvern Link near the coordinates, which are for parking only.

The Elgar Enigma series celebrates the 150th anniversary of Elgar's birth, the countryside that so inspired him and his first widely recognised work, Variations on an Original Theme, more commonly known as The Enigma Variations.

Variation I (L'istesso tempo) C.A.E. was dedicated to Elgar's wife, Caroline Alice Elgar. She helped him become the great composer of his age and was his inspiration. Indeed, so reliant was he on her that following her death in 1920 he was unable to compose any further major work.

Forli

The cache is hidden nearby but you will need to find the Elgars' house on Alexandra Road: it is called Forli. It is while living here that Elgar composed the Enigma Variations along with many of his other famous works. If you reach the Elgar Route sign you have gone too far.

Having found the house take the number as AB. There are two numbers on the post; if in doubt, it is the highest valued that you require. The cache is located at:

N52 07. A 0 (A-1) W002 19. (B-1) (A-3) B

You can park on Alexandra Road at the coords above; this is not the location of the house but the start of the road. Be careful crossing the busy road when going to the cache.
