Geocache Description:

Try parking at N50.32.455 W005.00.914 to avoid car parking charges and or a HEFTY TOW AWAY FINE. The walk will do you good and great views on a clear day. Take care with CHILDREN AND DOGS Keep them on a lead. CLIFFS ARE DANGEROUS Places for those left unattended.

My original intention was to place the cache at the life guard emergency post at Booby's bay but the material was unsuitable (clue!!) So I moved location to the Mangleworzle.

Carl was on tow to Plymouth when on 7th October disaster struck and she came ashore at Booby's. Mystery surrounded this vessel , which had been registered in Hamburg and was interned at Cardiff in 1914. Rumour had it that she had been laying mines in the Bristol Channel before the outbreak of World War One.

You can still catch a glimpse of her keel and ribs some 300 ft long. In days gone by plates and one of her anchors could be seen but no longer. When we visited the area in April 07 quite a lot was exposed but sand has soon covered them over again. Obviously low spring tides are the best time to catch a glimpse.

With the first site being unsuitable we proceeded up the hill and located the mangleworzle It is here that you need to look.

PLEASE be careful near the cache as there is no fencing in the area to protect you
