Geocache Description:

Carlotta loves this bridge, it has to be the prettiest of all Aberdeen’s bridges.

The bridge was built between 1827 and 1830 by John Smith and Thomas Telford. Unlike the single span Brig o' Balgownie this bridge has seven spans since the new crossing point was much wider, being closer to the sea. It is built using dressed granite and included semi-hexagonal pedestrian niches, think this is what Carlotta like best about it. More than a century later the volume of traffic using the bridge had increased to the point where the bridge could barely cope, rather than building another the original 7.3m wide bridge was widened between 1958 and 1960 to enable it to carry four lanes of traffic. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1959.

Its a small camoed vitamin bottle. It could take geocoins but please refrain as the cache was stolen a few years ago and the TB's went with it.
