This cache is inspired by Shakespeare's comedy Troilus And
Cressida. A synopsis of the play as well as the full text
can be found here. The reference to peacocks seemed
appropriate for this cache.
"Why, he stalks up and down like a
peacock,--a stride and a stand:"
(Act III, Scene III)
Like all my other Shakespeare caches, you do not have to read
the play to find the cache.
The Area
This is a very interesting spot in Bedford. Locals know it well,
but if you're not from around here, it's easy to miss. The other
day, I was driving nearby and heard the screech of a peacock. I
thought to myself how strange it is to here a peacock screeching in
the middle of Bedford. I then thought that this is a neat place to
share with other cachers.
This assortment of birds including peacocks, peahens, and
various waterfowl is privately maintained by the landowner. It's a
very impressive display. The birds are in residence usually from
March through November. I hope you enjoy your visit.
Please Note
- Daytime caching only. Although the area is available 24/7, you
will attract the attention of local LEO, neighbors, or the
inhabitants at night.
