Before 1950, there was only bleak and range. The village was found in 1950, it got its name in 1951. The two choices ware Bácsfehértó and Kunfehértó. Until the spring of 1952, the name was Bácsfehértó, then it became Kunfehértó, because it lays in the area named Kiskunság.
The village is famous of its lake, and the holiday area. The lake’s silt is rich of minerals, which has good medical effect. The name (Kunfehér = Kun-white) originated from the color of its silt. The beach is 500 m long. There is also a fishing lake and an educational trail near the lake bath.
From June to August there’s the festival Kunfeherto Summer. At this time, there are many cultural happenings, exhibitions, concerts, folk music, sport, and the Beer festival.
