This is entry number 1 in the Boys of Summer Series. This cache
revolves around Hall of Famer Jake Beckley (1867-1918), better
known as Eagle Eye by opposing pitchers for his ability to discern
balls and strikes.
Waypoint #1 will take you to a plaque honoring Jake. You will need
information from this plaque for waypoint #2 (interestingly these
stats differ from MLB.Com).
Games played at first base = ABCD
Career Batting Average = .EFG
Waypoint #2 is located at N39 4A.F31 W91 2F.4DD
This is a quaint resting place with a nice view. You will need to
record Jakes' mother, Rosine, year of birth HIJK, and year of death
LMNP.
There is a stop sign at the entrance that says closed at the top
and nights at the bottom. This just means that the area is closed
nights.
Final cache is located at N39 4A.KPJ W91 2H.JL6
This will take you to a location built in 1938 that Eagle Eye would
have loved. Bring your own pencil as this is a small nano.
THE CACHE HAD TO BE MOVED SLIGHTLY AFTER THE RENOVATIONS. THE
FINAL LOCATION IS MUCH EASIER TO FIND NOW.

[view this log] | October 2 by myotis (6361 found) OCK K-Team. This time we were not on a numbers run. We wanted to have a nice easy day of neat and fun caches. So we headed for the Habibal area. We had a really nice time. So many really neat caches. Took a tour of Mark Twain Cave and saw an eagle. Lots of really neat places. So we had lots of fun. Thanks to all the hiders. [view this log] | September 27 by roverschmidt (262 found) Ok, once at the hotel on the night of the 26th we noticed a new cache since downloading waypoints for the trip. It was going back to the area of the final. I told my hubby it was a shame to leave this cache as a DNF so when we went by nobody was there today. We did the new cache and then stopped back by the final and THERE IT WAS plain as day! Thanks so much for this cache it was very nice, if you are ever in Franklin Co MO check out some of our caches!
[view this log] | September 26 by roverschmidt (262 found) Found the first two waypoints with no problem! Nice spots I might add, we enjoyed them, that is why we hate to put this as a DNF! We are leaving the area in the morning so I guess we can't get this one this time. We did end up at the black fence at the ballpark where the Cavemen play there was a fashion show getting ready to start.
