Geocache Description:

This cache involves finding the letters for, and solving a basic word puzzle. It is part of the Yarra Scramble series. Each of the Yarra Scramble caches uses a similar style puzzle to find coordinates. See Yarra Scramble 1 for more details.

This cache can be done by finding a convienient parking spot and walking. However, you'd probably find that using a bicycle would be the most effective way to get around the various waypoints.

This cache has 3 waypoints at which you will find a hidden plastic letter. Finding the letters is important to take you to the next and ultimately the final waypoint.

First Letter

You will find the first letter at the posted coordinates.
Z=the letter's position in the alphabet where an A is position 1, a B=2, ..., Z=26.

Second Letter

The coordinates for the 2nd waypoint are:
S 37 49.(Z*49 - 2)
E 144 59.(Z*22 + 7)
The letter found at the second location helps you find the next letter because Y=the letter's position in the alphabet where A is position 1, B=2, ..., Z=26.

Third Letter

The coordinates for the 3rd waypoint are:
S 37 49.(65*Y + 11)
E 144 59.(30*Y + 3)

Cache Location

You now have 3 letters. Unscramble the letters to make a word.
Now, using the key A=1, B=2, C=3, ...., Z=26, convert the word to a number 5 digits long. Each of the digits is assigned a letter A through E in sequence, where the first digit maps to A, the second to B and so on. The partial alphabet (A to E) mapping to the digits is the key to the final location.
The cache is at:
S37 50.(C-A)E(A-C)
E144 59.BCB

The cache is a 400ml Sistema Cliptop container and does not contain a pen.

Any reports of missing letters and/or the actual cache missing are generally incorrect. Many times letters/the cache have incorrectly been reported missing. 90% of the reports have proven to be incorrect. If you can't find it - you are not looking hard enough or in the right spot.
