Kuplerne, Skagen
Skagen er omgivet af enorme mængder hede og sumpede områder, gennem
årene er noget af disse områder vokset til krat og lav skov. Et
utroligt smukt eksempel på dette er området fra Batterivej og ud
mod grenen. Vejen har fået sit navn på grund af at under krigen mod
englænderne 1807 - 1814 var et kompagni infanterister fra 3. jyske
regiment under kommandoen af Thomas Frederik Westenholtz (1779 -
1830) stationeret i Skagen. I 1810 anlagde ingeniørkaptajn Herman
Alexander Caroc (1784 - 1827), et batteri med 2 feltkanoner og fire
18-punds kanoner ved Nordstrand. Men nu ligger der en radarstation
ude for enden af vejen, også kaldet "kuplerne".
Hvis du skal besøge denne cache i sommerhalvåret vil det være en
god ide at have myggebalsam på, da området er hjemsted for enormt
store mængder meget blodtørstige myg.

Kuplerne, Skagen
Skagen is surrounded by huge areas of moor and swampy areas and
through the
years some of these areas have grown into thicket and small
forests. A very
beautiful example of this is the area from "Batterivej" and out
towards the
top of denmark. The road is named after a canon placement that was
there in 1810, but now there is a radarstation at the end of the
road, also known as "Kuplerne".
If you are going to visit this cache in the summer it will be a
good idea to bring
some anti-mosquito lotion as the areas is the home of huge amounts
of bloodthirsty
mosquitoes.

This multi cache starts at the old rescue house that is the
nearest neighbour
to "kuplerne". The coordinate is both parking and start
coordinate.
From here you can the "kuplerne" which is an old military
listening post which
was very important during the cold war. How many domes are there
