Fanø - Sønderho Mølle / Mühle / Mill

Sønderho Mølle
Den nuværende mølle blev opført i 1895, hvor der tidligere stod en
stubmølle, som nedbrændte året før. Møllen var i brug indtil 1923.
I dag er den åben som museum, og hvert år i juli afholdes i øvrigt
"Sønderhodagen" ved møllen.
Møllen er beliggende i udkanten af Sønderho.

Die Mühle von Sønderho
Am Aussenrand von Sønderho steht stolz die alte Mühle und empfängt
die Gäste.
In alten Tagen durften die Bewohner von Sønderho ihr Korn nur in
der køniglichen Mühle in Ribe auf dem Festland mahlen lassen.
Im Jahre 1701 bekam der Pfarrer in Sønderho die Genehmigung zum
ersten Mühlenbau. Seit der Genehmigung wurden mehrere Mühlen
gebaut, u.a. eine Bockmühle, die 1894 abbrannte. Die jetzige Mühle
wurde ein Jahr später gebaut und war bis 1923 in Betrieb.
An der Mühle Sønderho findet jedes Jahr Mitte Juli der Sønderho-Tag
statt, wo viele Bewohner von Fanø immer noch die alten Fanø -
Trachten tragen. Ein Besuch an diesem Tag ist ein Muss für jeden
Fanø Besucher, sich die tollen Trachten anzuschauen.

The Mill of Sønderho
In the old days, the people of Sønderho were only allowed to get
their wheat ground in the King's Mill in Ribe on the mainland, but
in 1701 the reverend of Sønderho received permission to build their
own mill. Since then a few more mills have been built. For instance
the "Bookmill", which burned down in 1894. The mill we know today
was built one year later and was actively used until 1923.
Mid July the Sønderhoer-days take place at the mill, when a lot of
the residents still like to dress up in the old national costumes
of Fanø
It's a delight to see these old costumes and a visit an absolute
must, if you are staying on Fanoe during this time
