Geocache Description:

The second lighthouse of Kea, it is one of the first of its kind in Greece! It is located near Cape Tamelos, the southern tip of the island.

The lighthouse you will see when arriving near the coordinates is among the first to operate in Greece. It is built from the local soft rock that most houses are built from and sits at the southern tip of the island. The view from the lighthouse is magnificent, you will be able to see the sea in three directions.

To get there, you can take the road that will lead you very near the cache and the lighthouse. However, the road is quite steep and you will have a hard time coming back if not equipped with a tough car or a 4x4. I got there with a normal car but had a hard time getting back to the asphalt road network.

The cache is located near the lighthouse, on a footpath that leads away from the main building. Please mind your step when trying to find the cache since the footpath is narrow and steep.

The cache contains a log book, pens and some toys. Have fun finding the cache and enjoy the best view of the island!
