The Yesteryear series of caches are not meant to be difficult, but are meant to tell a story about a landmark or event of when I was a kid growing up in Ottawa. The items described may or may not be here anymore. They are simply mentioned as my own personal "walk down memory lane." Some of you may remember them - some of you may not. I hope you enjoy them...

YESTERYEAR - St. Leonard's Catholic School

This area, which is now the North end extension of Rob Roy Avenue, used to be St. Leonard's Catholic Elementary School, of which I attended from Kindergarten to grade 6 (the highest grade at the school).
This school was within easy walking distance from the house that I grew up in, which was on the other side of Carling Avenue. At the time, Rob Roy Avenue only went as far North as Cresthill Street.

St. Leonard’s School was the archrival of Grant Public School, which was directly adjacent to the West of St. Leonard’s, on the other side of the fence. Many a snowball or mud-ball would “inadvertently slip” out of my hands and over the fence. I never could figure out how the snowballs built up such great speed by just “slipping” out of my hands. After all, I was such a young innocent wee lad attending a Catholic school, and would never consider such immature behaviour (I’m trying to say this with a straight face)…

The cache you will be looking for is a small cube-shaped Lock-N-Lock container. Only small trading items will fit in there. Please replace container as found (which is not on the ground). There is also a small FTF gift that may used throughout the city.

At ground-zero, you will be close to muggle territory, so stealth-mode should be utilized.

I hope you enjoy my “yesteryear” walk down memory lane caches.
