Geocache Description:

A long lost landmark!

This location was very popular in the late 1920's when this entire area was grassy field. The "Old Man" in the title is known as "Sunny Jim" or "The Old Man of the Mountain's Little Brother". It's an almost perfect natural replica of the original Old Man in Franconia that fell in 2004. Trees and brush have since grown up all around, and you'd never know there was a field here, but he still stands guard over his domain. The main purpose of this cache is to introduce you to the new "Old Man"!

He is located roughly 25 feet off Branch Hill Rd on the left side as you climb the hill. As you approach the coordinates, you'll see a Tree Farm sign on the left as you climb the hill. Park here and go up to the stone wall. Parking can be tricky due to the dropoffs on the road shoulders- be careful! Stand on the wall at a spot about 10ft down hill from the sign and look directly into the woods. I'd like you to meet Sunny Jim! After you've met, the cache is hidden within a short distance. It is an ammo can with items for young and old.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT climb, pick at, poke, push, or molest the rock outcropping in any way!!!! If you were this old, you may be unstable yourself!!

Enjoy the cache!
