YESTERYEAR - Blueberries Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

SuperDave_GPS: Hmmm... Very strange..
I can to some degree accept the Unlucky 13 cache being muggled and posted with a sign, but not this one.
This one is not on private property, so what's the big deal..??

Oh well, thanks to all who have found this one and have shared their stories.
I'm glad that most seem to enjoy my Yesteryear Series.

The Yesteryear series of caches are not meant to be difficult, but are meant to tell a story about a landmark or event of when I was a kid growing up in Ottawa.
The items described may or may not be in existence anymore. They are simply mentioned as my own personal "walk down memory lane."
Some of you may remember them - some of you may not.
I hope you enjoy them...

YESTERYEAR – Blueberries

Back when SuperDave was but a wee lad living only within one or two hundred meters or so from here, this area used to be quite a large sized field full of wild blueberry bushes.

I frequently scooted through this field to visit my friends who lived on the other side of here in the Ritchie Street development. It was common practice for us to grab the fishing rods to head out to the rapids, but stop here first to stuff our faces with blueberries.

I also remember the bulldozers and backhoes coming in here to rip the area away, including all the blueberry bushes, in order to put in the OC-Transpo roadway which now runs from Carling Avenue down to Britannia Beach.

The container you will be looking for is a small watertight Lock-N-Lock container. Please rehide it where you found it and try to conceal it as best as possible. There’s room only for the logbook and a few small trading items. There’s also a FTF prize, which can be used all over the city. Bring your own writing instrument, please, at least until I get back to Ikea to grab more pencils.

Please be aware that there is poison ivy at this location. Long pants, and socks with your shoes would be a good choice here.
This area can also become quite swampy in the Spring once all the snow melts.

Also, this area is quite popular with the local teenage muggle community, as attested by the large fire pit and the odd alcoholic bottle laying around. Stealth and common sense should be in order.

I hope you enjoy my “Yesteryear” walk-down-memory-lane caches.
