Geocache Description:

Be the Genealogist is a series based on my other hobby. It's a hobby that I enjoy doing, so much so, that I decided to allow other geocachers to get a taste of it. Although these caches are all puzzles, none are meant to be extremely difficult.

In addition, I decided that since I like hiking, I'd create some long ones. All the hikes in this series will require at least a half mile hike (as the crow flies), each way, to and from the cache.

This is one of six of the initial caches, that will lead to the final cache, for a total of seven caches. In order to get the final cache, there's a question related to the series finale on the inside cover of each container. Bring something to write on and with, to record the question, or take a picture of it. Answer all 6 questions, and you'll know where the final is.

This cache is located in the Meadowood BLM lands. The cache is located along the Thompson Creek Trail. The available coords aren't where the cache is, rather it's the suggested parking spot. The cache is right off the trail.

On to the puzzle portion of this cache. Your job is to look up when the following people went through Ellis Island/Port of New York, which will give you a pattern to finish out the coordinates.

38
Irving Berlin (Israel Beilin)(Composer)
Sigmund Freud(Psychiatrist)
Herbert Hoover(President of the U.S.)-(on the Rijndam)
Albert Einstein(Physicist)
Giacomo Puccini (Opera Composer)

77
William H Taft (President of the U.S.)
F. Scott Fitzgerald (Writer)
Pablo Casals(Master cellist, musician)-when he arrived on "The Buenos Aires"
Henry Youngman (Comedian)
Johann Weissmuller (Actor and Olympian)

Remember, bring something to write on, to capture the question for the finale.

If you have any problem with the puzzle, or the coordinates, or any part of the cache, email me, and I'll help/fix any issues.

Thanks to the BLM staff for allowing me to place this cache. Go and get the other close caches by BrianP, Meadowood Scramble, and Meadowood Surprise.

This Cache series was voted Best Series in NOVAGo's 2007 cache awards!
