Schöne Aussicht vom ehemaligen Abensberger Galgenberg /
Beautiful view from the former gallows hill of Abensberg
Von den Leuten, die früher hier auf diese Hügelkuppe kamen (bzw. gebracht wurden), hatte ein Teil vermutlich anderes im Kopf, als die schöne Aussicht zu bewundern. Zumindest mussten diese Menschen den Berg dann aber nicht mehr hinuntersteigen ...
Vom Gipfel des kleinen "Zusatzhügels" aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf die südlich gelegene Stadt Abensberg mit dem Kirchturm und dem neuen Hundertwasserturm mit seiner goldenen Zwiebelkuppel. Im Südwesten schließen sich die 4 großen Kamine der Erdölraffinerie in Neustadt an und noch weiter westlich die der anderen Raffinerien im Ingolstädter Raum sowie die (derzeit noch) drei Blöcke des Kraftwerks Irsching.
"Ganz oben" findet Ihr auch eine Tafel mit einigen interessanten Informationen zur Geschichte dieses Ortes und zur umgebenden Natur.

Some of the people who came (or were brought) up here in former times might have had other things in their mind than to enjoy the scenic view. At least they hadn't go down the hill again ...
On the top of the little "additional hill" you have a beautiful view to the little township of Abensberg with the church tower and the new Friedensreich Hundertwasser tower with its golden bulbiform dome. In the southwest you can see the 4 chimneys of the oil refinery in Neustadt, followed by the other refineries in the Ingolstadt area and the three chimneys of the Irsching power plant.
On the top of the hill there is a board with some interesting informations about the history of this place and about the surrounding nature (unfortunately only in German language).
