Peaceful Garden "Wai Marama"
The latest garden under construction is a centennial project by
The Rotary Club of East Coast Bays. This project to provide a
beautiful garden space for the public at the hospital is to mark
100 years of Rotary service internationally.
The garden is placed at the main entrance to the hospital
designed in the shape of a Nautilus shell with an internal koru
design; it features fragrant, evergreen and non toxic plantings.
Carefully designed seating forums provide privacy and places of
respite, some covered with sails and some open to the sky.
The centre piece of the garden is a water feature designed and
donated by Morris and James potteries and tile makers of
Matakana.
The garden design was specially created to allow all the
patients to view its form from the hospital windows above.
