I had wanted to put a cache at or around Farmers Corner, but apart from putting it on private property I couldn't find a suitable, safe location. So second best is this site from which you can see Farmers Corner.
While looking around this area for a location we came across a sign post for the roads... only it showed 3 roads where there were only two!! Could only guess that the long straight track opposite might be a road - and getting home and checking out the county map it is a 'Local Unformed' road!
So thought this to be an interesting and safe spot for a cache since I couldn't use my originally intended location - just off the main road and easily accessible. You can drive to within half a meter of the cache - road runs parallel to SH1, accessed 2.3km south or 0.5km north of the cache site. Cache is hidden at ground level in the obvious location.
Cache container is a 0.5L black snaplock container, and when placed contained logbook, pencil, pencil sharpener and some small swag items (pins, rubber animals). Also several geocoins for release/drop.
23/08/07 - just been to cache to drop a handful of geocoins in. It was right on dusk and the site had a great view of the sunset over the mountains. A nice quiet spot to watch the busy world go by.
