Geocache Description:

This is a micro cache located within the Goodale Family Forest Tree Farm. A trail entrance is located at the intersection of Chestnut St. and Murphy Rd. There is parking right across from the trail head, with room for two or three cars.

THE TREE FARM:
This is a pretty little parcel of land in the Hudson area, secluded and unknown by most people. But here’s a short history lesson to help introduce you to this young forest:

In 1967, Francis Goodale of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania donated this property which had been in the Goodale family since 1702. This thirty-tree acre forest had long been an area under heavy pressure for the industrial park development along Route 495. But now it’s protected under the New England Forestry Foundation and it provides a variety of open space benefits to the community- such as geocaching! The Forestry Foundation is dedicated to preserving our wonderful forests and it is my hope that you will take the time to admire this land and appreciate their noble conservation efforts!

THE CACHE
The cache is located far away from the trail, so expect some bushwhacking. You should eventually come to a stone wall and a very faint animal trail: the cache is very close by. To limit GPS error: if you go uphill into the small pine trees, you've gone to far. The container is a small plastic rectangle with a sliding cap and it contains a log book and pencil.

DIRECTIONS
From I-495 take exit 26 onto Route 62 east towards Hudson. Continue for approximately 3.8 miles, through the town of Hudson, and make a right turn on Main Street. Continue for approximately 0.9 miles and make a right on Chestnut Street. The forest is located approximately 0.5 miles down the road on the right side, sandwiched between Chestnut Street and Murphy Road.
