Note for previous finders of the original cache - The final GZ for the original cache is now located in the middle of the newly created left lane of the ever widening thoroughfare of Wellington Road. The cache, and the tree that held it have now been chipped so thus, everything about this cache has changed. Only the opening co-ordinates remain the same.
If you did the original cache when it was first listed, you may not recognise the place now, so it is worth another visit. To begin, take a drive to the listed co-ordinates. You should be at a set of lights on a busy main road. You are now at the northern end of the boulevard for this cache. Turn south into the boulevard and drive the entire length of this short road. When you reach the end of the road you will see Melbourne's answer to the Colluseum. Better find yourself a car park.
A once proud stadium where gladiators once fought and crowds cheered now stands as a mere fraction of it's former glory days. The mighty towers are gone. Arctic Park is no more. Take your mind back to that day when you watched a fierce battle on the grounds below. Where did you sit that day? Chances are, you would now be sitting on someone's roof. The part of the stadium that remains has not been treated with respect. The lower areas are now filled with cafes, shops and a gym. The upper stands are unfortunately off limits but a small section of seating has public access at both the eastern and western ends of the stadium. You will need to visit both of these sections to gain the required information. If you look carefully, you will notice that the rows of seats are numbered.
In the Western Stand, what row is located between row 12 and row 14? Answer equals AB.
In the Eastern Stand, what row is located midway between row 10 and row 14? Answer equals CD.
The cache is located at - S 37 55.(A+B+C+D)76 E 145 11.(B+D+D)56
On approach to GZ from the nearest road, there are two parallel walls. Walk down the lower side of the lower wall. Where the wall changes height suddenly, look to the ground at the base of the wall. (30 July 25 - Due to extremely bushy growth at the old GZ, we have moved the cache about 1m to the spot as described above, which is on the other side f the main wall).
