Geocache Description:

This cache marks a century of hides for me - and what a Long, Strange Trip It's Been.
John Muir walked these hills more than a century ago - and I suspect they aren't a whole lot different today than they were back then.

Daphne and I were out with the dogs, hiking along Mt. Wanda after a new cache. After finding it, we were making our way back to the car... by hiking up and away from it. I can't help but wonder if there's a more direct approach - as the trail from here down to Muir's Swing has to go somewhere.

We stopped to catch our breath and give the dogs (and humans) some water at this spot, near a crossing of paths - complete with a solid new picnic table, and, as TA describes it: a non-information display. There's a nice view of Mt. Diablo just a few paces away.

While we were here, I seem to have dropped something - a camo pill bottle. Despite some tree cover, should be a pretty straight forward hide once you get here. Definitely less than a mile from parking, and bonus points to whoever confirms a more direct route from the other entrance, off Franklin Canyon?
