Geocache Description:

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak famously started Apple Computer in a Cupertino garage. But did you know they also had a barn?

Check out the well preserved building in the valley below. Nice barn, but there's no farm machinery, no ranch structures. What could it be doing here?

It seems this was once a 'computer test facility' for one of Silicon Valley's best known companies, Apple Computer. According to a mention here, it was designed in 1984 by well-known Bay Area architect Sigrid Rupp.

Note this cache was originally called "Bill and Dave's Barn" because we thought it had been the property of Hewlett-Packard, based on an intriguing, but erroneous, mention in the local history The Coast Time Forgot. This was corrected by a neighbor who told the story of the real owner to a finder of the cache - see the log of 10/25/07. According to the same neighbor, there is no metal in the construction of the building, which (along with its remote location) would suggest it was used for RFI testing. Thanks to both the helpful neighbor and cacher 'T Diddy'!

The cache is a recycled mints tin. If you have any further information about this location, please let us know in the logs.
