There has been a few attempts and some cachers are finding the
"Mountaineering container with paper inside" This is NOT the cache.
I have changed the co-ordinates to where I have placed the Lime
Green replacement container. The orginal cache, according to the
original "Hider", says from looking at my pictures at the top, the
cache may be about 2 meters away under a piramid rock, with one
other rock in front. If you want to know the rest of this story,
you will have to read below..
Mount Temple overlooks the Bow Valley in Banff National Park near
beautiful Lake Louise. The summit is at about 3550m so be careful
of weather conditions. Although this considered an alpine scramble
it is in reality a mountain climb in the truly classic sense.

After almost 10 years of this cache lost to the ages at the summit
of Mount Temple, KickButtEdmonton has placed a new container on the
summit after a search of the potential cache area.
Due to his efforts - I have granted a virtual smiley to John for
his efforts - but fear not - the original FTF is STILL up for
grabs.
The ORIGINAL CONTAINER MUST BE FOUND TO CLAIM THE FIRST TO
FIND!

I found 3 large black/blue rocks that make a triangle. In the
middle were 5 smaller rocks that I removed and put the cache
inside. Then I put the 5 smaller rocks on top of it. The new cache
is a lime green small container with Geocaching.com writen on it.
The is no writing instrument, so bring your own.
Start of Trail 1863 Meters = 6112 Feet
Mt. Temple Peak 3555 Meters = 11663 Feet
5.5 hours to reach the top, 1692 Meters = 5551.18 Feet, 4.6 hours
to come down
Mt. Temple is the highest peak in the Lake Louise area. The highest
mountain anyone can scramble in the Canadian Rockies. Difficulty
Rating: D6 - Difficult to Advanced

MCPL. Paul Franklin
was injured in Kandahar Afghanistan in a Suicide bombing Jan
15th, 2006. During the incident Paul suffered amputation of both
right and left legs above the knees. As Paul is an Avid outdoors
and athletic type - it is my hope that at some point in the future
- he will be able to return to this cache. For those of you who
wish to attempt this cache - please do so with safety in mind, and
the support of our dedicated soldiers in your heart. Support for
Paul can be made by recognition or support of the Northern Alberta
Amputee Program, a foundation Paul has worked hard to build.

NOTE from Scratch_: Reastick from Calgary informed us that the
coordinates (original) may have been in error when originally
transcribed: The co-ordinates shown for this cache are (we believe)
correct, however, we also believe it is likely that the original
co-ordinates were recorded in NAD27. When Summitting - prepare your
GPS to confirm the corrected co-ordinates, but also you may with to
attempt changing your DATUM to NAD27 and trying the second spot. We
BELIEVE that the ACTUAL co-ordinates are correct as listed in this
cache - but you would be well advised to include both possible in
your hunt itinerary.
Also please note - this is perhaps Alberta's OLDEST POSSIBLE FTF -
quite a feat for the finder! We have upped the difficulty to
account for the possible coordinate error.

"The cache is located just west of the true summit on the north
west face. When we summited the wind was blowing at about 65 km an
hour with a heavy snow fall. We got too Moraine Lake at about 8 am
and summitted at about noon. The route you take is up Sentinel pass
and then onto the mountain it is best to refer to a scramble or
alpine climb book for the appropriate route. The cache is under a
rock wall approximatly 10 or 20 m from the snow summit (when the
cache was placed.) Have fun and good luck it is a hard climb but
very well worth it."
The cache isnt located at the true summit it is about 20 m down the
north west side of the summit.
ORIGINAL CACHE LISTING FROM 2002
NOTE: We have been informed that the cache co-ordinates are
incorrect - we believe the error was that the GPS was set to NAD27
when the readings were taken... our apologies. Several have
commented that the correct coordinates should read W116 12.32 It
will take a little time for US to reverify the cache coordinates -
so anyone searching should keep the NAD27 possibility in mind.
