According to the OS, Applepie Hill is the source of the River Pang.
You probably won't see any water here, and our Compton one now has
been renamed. We did know that the source was further back, but at
the time of placing the series, there wasn't a lot of water flowing
in the Pang .... there is now!
There is a bonus with the cache - it is right by a trigpoint! Don't
forget to have a look into the field and see the fabulous views.
You can park really close, so this is a nice cache and dash.

December 17, 2009 by smstext (669 found) Knew it was a cache hoppers when I saw the trig point. Was driving towards Compton when I noticed the waypoint on my sat nav so with no further info stopped and saw the trig point and found it. It wasn't till I logged onto the geocaching app on my iPhone I saw that I was right about who placed the cache. Thanks liane for the great cache and a reminder of how many trig points there are in the uk.

October 25, 2009 by andyandchris (326 found) We visited this cache while staying in Compton visiting our son and daughter-in-law. The cache does'nt seem to have been visited recently: no cachers in West Berkshire? We walked up the hill from Compton, across the fields where the horses took a lot of interest in us. Finding the trig point was not as obvious as we expected, as it now seems to be disused. However, not too difficult. TNLN. TFTC.
