CKU - Not Lost in Blairhampton? Think So?
In Ontario, Canada
How Geocaching Works
Anyone who has spent any time in the County of Haliburton knows about Blairhampton. It’s a large area where travelers have been known to “disappear” for long periods of time. Roads seems to end where they start; nothing is quite like what it seems, especially after you pass the same pine tree for the third time.
Here’s a tip: all signs lead to the golf course.
Beware of time portals and for heaven’s sake, don’t believe any of the signs.
This is because of the rarely seen Blairhampton gnomes, strange little beings - usually visible only at dusk or dawn - fiendishly going about their nightly duties of changing signs before dawn.
A wise person does not enter the area without a full tank of gas and a meal.
The cache itself is not that hard to find - ultimately - but getting there is worth the price of admission, as they say. There are many access points to the area and it is your challenge to find the one that will bring you closest to the starting point, not to mention finding your way out.
Bread crumbs don’t work.
You have been warned .... !!! Did I mention the signs?
