cachepharm: Sadly, we found our cache to be gone, with only a divot in the ground where it used to be [:(].

Geocache Description:

This trail is well marked but should not be taken lightly. It is pretty much a 2-3 hour uphill hike...but worth it!
Make certain you start at the signed trailhead:
N 52 17.483
W 116 22.432

We have done this hike a couple of times with the family, including a nine-year old boy. We put this cache up here because it is such an amazing hike with terrific views (especially if you go to the top - more on that later) and now there is a cache too!
The hike could be a day hike, but if you choose you may want to backpack in and camp by the lake (which is what we did this trip.)
Unfortunately I cannot find my list of exactly what I originally put in the cache but this is close:

Five-in-One survival kit (whistle, waterproof match case, compass, signal mirror, flint)
Three-in-one can opener
water/windproof matches
emergency blanket
street hockey ball
emergency candles
log book

If you decide to hike to the top of Allstones be certain not to turn uphill until you are about 500 meters from the lake (the trail is fairly obvious.) Co-ordinates for the top are
N 52 18.382
W 116 24.652
It is worth going to the top, even though I know you will be tired!
