Joslin Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

wandering4cache: Decided to give up the area in case someone else wants to place one. You just can't place it ON the schoolhouse or ramp as the historical committee doesn't want one there. Talk to cemetery superintendent at North Cemetery for permission. He maintains all the grounds in Oxford.

Geocache Description:

New England style town common. Nice place for fall foliage, fairs, concerts & weddings. BRING YOUR OWN PEN. NO ROOM FOR TRADES. 35mm film canister hidden with knowledge of Cemetery Superintendent / groundskeeper.

Few reasons for bringing you here. First, the park land was a gift from Dr. Elliot P. Joslin See our North Cemetery cache for more on Dr. Joslin.

Second, location of the District 8 Schoolhouse, one of the first public schools in Oxford. The building has since been returned to the park.

Thirdly, there is still a stone here that the Indians used to grind their corn. Can you find it?
