to beautiful Colchester Pond.
The Winooski Valley
Park District maintains a well marked trail approximately 3
miles long that completely encircles Colchester Pond. There are
several excellent caches that bring you north along the west shore
of the pond. With this cache you will travel around the southern
end of the pond. This part of the trail system first meanders along
the edge of a wetland area where you'll traverse a boardwalk of
sorts. It then brings you in and out of some open field expanses
with wonderful views of the pond. Once you are past the fields you
will enter the wooded section along the east shore.
This cache consists of three intermediate stages and a final. Stage
1 is at the posted coordinates. Each of the stages is meant to be
somewhat challenging, but hopefully not too hard. I have included
some hints below to assist you should you need them. The final is
your standard size ammo can.
