Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

The cache is just a few feet from the main trail, please don't trample the surrounding bushes and ground cover.
Parking on Tunitas Creek Road east of HWY 1
Parking in large dirt lot South of HWY bridge above Cliff

Cache named for Book of same name. The cache is at the site of a early 20th century Rail Road Trestle. When I was about ten my grandmother gave me a book called "The Last Whistle". The book documented some history of the Ocean Shore Rail Road. When I was a kid and the HWY Bridge was lower and closer to the water much more of this trestle was visible from the HWY. I've been fascinated by the broken dreams this rail road represents as it was supposed to be Electrified Two Tracks from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. It never made the whole trip and was only one track driven by steam. Imagine if the early entrepreneurs had they're way, the whole coast from San Francisco to Santa Cruz would be developed and have electric commuter train service.

Poison Oak, Slippery Swamp-like conditions. Cache is reachable from the South or East. East Route is easier but no walking on the beach like the South route. Creek is not crossable except at the sea shore.
