I løbet af
natten til frigivelsesdagen for denne cache (29. december 2007) er
det nye kontroltårn i Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup blevet taget i
brug.
Selve opførelsen af det nye tårn startede tilbage i starten
2003, derfor er navnet "Det nye tårn" lidt
misvisende.
Man
startede opførslen med at støbe selve tårnskaftet. Det foregik ved
at man lavede en støbeform som havde samme form som tårnskaftets
tværsnit. Denne form blev fyldt med beton og efterhånden som det
nederste var størknet blev formen løftet en tand og der blev hældt
mere beton i. I løbet af en lille måned blev der kontinuerligt
hældt beton i formen, samtidig med at den blev løftet trin for trin
indtil det var blevet 70 meter højt.
Efter installation af alskens teknisk udstyr i selve
tårnskaftet kunne selve hovedet, tårncab’en, sættes på. Det var i
efteråret 2003.
Tårncab’en blev samlet nede på jorden og siden hen hejst op ad
tårnskaftet og fæstnet øverst oppe. Det tog ca. 14 timer at fire
tårncab’en op ad tårnskaftet.
Selve tårnet stod færdigt i 2004 og i den efterfølgende
periode er alt indmaden blevet monteret. Lige fra indretningen af
lokaler med møbler og andet inventar, til installation og
afprøvning af alle de systemer der skal være i et flyveledertårn.
Herunder også trækning af mange kilometer kabler til at forbinde
udstyret med diverse andre systemer i lufthavnen. De fleste
systemer der er installeret i det nye tårn er nyudviklede og
afløser den forældede teknologi der blev brugt i det gamle
tårn.
I
de sidste par måneder inden ibrugtagningen har der siddet
flyveledere i tårnet og fulgt med i trafikken, men først om natten
mellem d. 28. og 29. december 2007 er kontrollen overgået fra
det gamle tårn til det nye.
Tårnet afløser det gamle tårn der står på den anden side af
en af landingsbanerne, i Maglebylille-komplekset. Dette tårn blev
opført i 1971.

The "new"
tower
During the night of the
release day for this cache (December 29th) the new control tower in
Copenhagen airport Kastrup was used for the first
time.
The title "The new tower" is a bit misleading
as the construction work started in the beginning of
2003.
At first the construction of the tower shaft
was established. This was made by constructing a mould that had the
same shape as the tower shafts cross section. This mould was filled
with concrete and lifted a tad as the lower layer was dried up and
repeatedly filled with more concrete. For almost a month this
process was continued; the concrete was filled into the mould as it
was raised level for level; until it was 70 meter high.
The tower cab was set in place in the fall
2003 after a lot of technical equipment was installed in the tower
shaft.
The tower cab was assembled on the ground and hoisted up the tower
shaft to fasten it at the top. It took about 14 hours to hoist it
to the top.
The tower itself was completed in 2004 and
thereafter the insides were fitted. Both the furnishing of the
offices with furniture and other inventory as well as installation
and testing of all the systems there must be in a air traffic
control tower. This included the kilometers of cables to connect
the equipment with other systems in the airport. Most of the
systems that have been installed in the new tower have been newly
developed and replaces the outdated technology that was being used
in the old tower.
During the last few months before the
deployment there have been air traffic controllers in the tower to
observe the traffic. Still the new control tower did not take over
until the night between December 28th and 29th.
On the other side of the runway the old tower
still stands in the Maglebylille - complex for which the new one is
the substitute. It was constructed in 1971. |
