Geocache Description:

This is Korner Kache 13. It is located in the smallest town (area wise) In Massachusetts. It is in Avon, MA, and it is approximately 4 square miles in size. After looking at Topo maps, and locating the corner of 3 towns, it was great to see it was in a nice little park, with a Cache already there. I hiked in, and was able to find the stone, corner post. On the post you will see an “H” for Holbrook on 1 side and “R” for Randolph on the other. There was no “A” for Avon. At the time the post was placed here, there was not an Avon yet. But on my Topo maps that I use, it is the location where Avon, Holbrook and Randolph meets. It is not a Benchmark, sorry you can not log it. If you do want to hunt a Benchmark that you can log, there is one in this park too. I found while looking for marks in area. It was a “Not Recovered” one. This was a fun find and to be the first to log it. There are others listed near by, but all of them are gone now. The Benchmark is” MY3478”. The Coords are right on the money. It is a drill hole in a large rock. Remember to bring your camera so you can log it. Just click on “Near by Benchmarks”. Also do not foget to do the "Father's Day Cache" Keep your eyes open and you may even See DEER!! One jumped out when I was Benchmarking hunting here in July. To get to the Cache, there is some bushwhacking required and it get harder 100' from the cache. Pick your trail carefully and remember to mark where you park. It is very easy to get turned around when all the green cover is back. The trails are not marked around the cache area. In the spring and summer, the bushwhacking will be a little harder. I have raised the level to 2.5 for this time frame. This stone marker is off the main trail about 350’ to 520’ depending when you decide to head straight for it. Where the cache is, the area is un-maintained. There are lots of animal trails you can follow and get you close. The Cache is close by the marker. It is an 8” x 10” 4 way pop and lock container that contains the nominal cache items for trade. Please re-hide as you found it or even better.
