C is for Cute Critters in a Cache. This cache is populated with a
number of little green critters. Please feel free to take one and
if so inclined, leave a critter of your own.
Cute is a good example of how a shortened form of a word can take
on a life of its own. Cute was originally a shortened form of acute
in the sense "keenly perceptive or discerning, shrewd." Cute came
to be used as a term for things demonstrating acuteness, and so it
went on to develop its own sense of "pretty or fetching." Critter
is a pronunciation spelling of creature and reflects a
pronunciation that would have been familiar to Shakespeare. The
most common meaning of critter is a “a living creature.” The
critters in the cache are not living creatures, but they are cute.
Cache. . . . .well, you should know the meaning of that word. LOL
This cache was created to meet the logging requirements of
GC17180-Vocabulary Virus Please replace cache carefully. There is
