This geocache will lead you around Frankfurt International Airport.
You will see starting and landing planes as close as
possible.
There is also a nature preserve area near the place where the cache
is hidden.
To find the cache (to get the final coordinates) you will have to
solve a few tasks before.
It’s easy terrain but it’s a few kilometers, no
significant changes in elevation. The hunt might take about three
hours.
Dieser Geocache führt euch um den Frankfurter Flughafen herum. In
unmittelbarer Nähe werdet ihr startende und landende Flugzeuge
sehen.
Auch gibt es nahe des Cacheverstecks ein Naturschutzgebiet.
Um den Cache (Endkoordinaten) zu bekommen, müsst ihr einige
Aufgaben lösen. Daher ist es ein Multicache.
Flaches Gelände erwartet euch, aber einige Kilometer werdet ihr
laufen müssen. Drei Stunden werdet ihr opfern müssen.
Deutsch:
Beginnt und parkt bei (N50 02.249 / E8 36.166) nachdem ihr die A5
an der Ausfahrt Zeppelinheim/ Neu-Isenburg verlassen habt.
Lauft dann nach Osten zur Bahnstation und zählt die Bahngleisen,
nicht die Bahnsteige ! Addiere 1 zu der Anzahl der Gleisen.
Das Ergebnis ist A.
Geht weiter Richtung Osten zum “Zeppelin Museum” bei
N50 02.104 / E8 36.885.
Schaut euch die Tafel unter dem „Kopf“ an und zählt die
Reihen auf der Tafel.
Addiere 3 dazu und ihr habt den Wert für D.
Lauft nun zurück zu eurem Parkplatz und geht weiter Richtung Westen
bis ihr die Autobahn überquert.
Schaut, auf der Brücke, nach Norden auf das blaue Schild und sucht
die zweistellige Zahl in dem gelben Feld.
Addiere zu der linken Ziffer 4, das Ergebnis ist E. Die rechte
Ziffer im gelben Feld ist H.
Begebt euch nun nach N50 02.596 / E8 35.938. Dort seht ihr ein Haus
das mit einem Karomuster bemalt ist.
Die Anzahl der Farben dieses Musters ist F. Geht nun zurück zum
Auto und fahrt zur westlichen Seite des
Flughafen und haltet am Parkplatz (N50 01.331 / E8 31.207) für die
Aussichtsplattform für die Startbahn West.
Die Aussichtsplattform findet ihr bei (N50 01.299 / E8 31.385).
Zählt dort die Garagentore der gegenüber liegenden
Feuerwache.
Die Anzahl der Tore ist B.
Drei Werte fehlen euch noch:
C= H-F
G= A-H-F
I= B-E+F-H
Nun habt ihr alle Infos die ihr benötigt um den Cache zu finden.
Die Koordinaten sind:

Start your hunt at the parking area #1 (N50 02.249/E8 36.166),
coordinates initially given at geocaching.com database)
after leaving the A5 at Zeppelinheim/Neu-Isenburg. Walk over to the
railway station to your east and count the tracks,
not the platforms! Add 1. This is the value for letter A.
Continue to the “Zeppelin Museum” at N50 02.104/E 8
36.885. There’s a head mounted on a column.
Count the lines on the sign. Add 3 and here you have your value for
letter D.
Walk back to the parking lot and continue your way to the west. You
will soon cross the “Autobahn”.
Look to the north at the blue sign. Focus on the yellow sign in the
blue one. Add 4 to the left digit for E.
The right digit of the yellow sign is letter H.
Continue your walk to N50 02.596/E8 35.938. You are standing next
to a building.
This building is painted with a pattern. Count the number of colors
this pattern is made of.
This is the value for letter F. Now wait for some big birds coming
in. In most weather conditions the
approach of FRA is from the east so there’s a good chance you
will see them.
Now return to your car and proceed to the west of the
airport.
To get to the west of the airport follow the signs to
“Kelsterbach Süd”, “Cargo City” and
“Walldorf”
when you are to the north of the airport. You will have to follow
the wall around the airport counter clockwise.
You can hold at parking area #3 at N50 01.331/E8 31.207.
Walk to the lookout at N50 01.299/E8 31.385. Find out how many
garages there are at the fire brigade.
This is the value for letter B.
Oops. There are three values missing for letter C, G and I!
C= H-F
G= A-H-F
I= B-E+F-H
Now you should have all the information you need to find the
cache.
The coordinates for the cache are North AG IG.BDA/East E HC.CIC.
Good luck!
If you decide to do the cache by bicycle start at parking lot #1
and do all the tasks in that area.
Continue around the north of the airport and later follow the wall
around the airport.
After finding the cache continue circling the airport in that
direction.
From the cache to your car at parking area #1 it’s roughly a
northeastern direction. But of course your GPS unit will tell you
exactly!
